Predeceffor's, Royal presence, take some encouragement from thence, to lay themfelves at YOUR MAJESTY's feet. But much more, from the confideration of their aiming at that great end, which YOUR MAJESTY has fo wifely made the fupreme end of all YOUR Actions, the promoting of God's Glory, and the Happiness of Mankind. It is an inexpreffible advantage to our poor endeavours, for this great end, that they are fure of being Countenanc'd by YOUR MAJESTY'S Gracious Approbation of them, affifted by YOUR Royal Authority, and, which is yet more, inforc'd by YOUR Illuftrious Example. We cannot be altogether without hope, that, being thus powerfully recommend ed and supported, they may, in time, prove fuccessful, and gain strength enough, by degrees, to prevail over the Libertinifm and Corruptness of a Prophane and Degenerate Age, and to re ftore ftore true Religion Luftre, and Authority. to its Primitive May God long preserve YOUR MAJESTY, as a burning and Shining Light in the midst of a faithless and perverfe Generation, to bring to pass this Glorious End. May his Bleffing be upon all YOUR Pious Endeavours, for this purpofe; May he always go on, to reward You for them, in fome measure, even in this World, as he has hitherto done, with uncommon Succeffes and Victories over all YOUR Enemies abroad, and with the Dutiful, Affectionate and Loyal Services, of all YOUR Subjects at home. And, And, when at last he fhall think fit to call You to himself (oh! that, in mercy to a finful People, this may long, long, be deferr'd) May he compleat YOUR Reward, by making You to shine forth in his Kingdom, amongst those, who have been wise, and turn'd many to Righteousness, as the bright brightness of the firmament, and as the ftars, for ever and ever.
