the eternal Salvation of his Perfon, in his fecond laft vifible Appearance in the Clouds or Air, with his mighty Angels, to make an everlafting Separation between thofe that would have none to reign over them but he only, by his bleffed Spirit, and them that walk even contrary to true Faith, Scriptures, or fober Reafon itself, and have another God befides Chrift, above Christ, or before Chrift. Take fcriptural Notice of this Saying of our Lord Jefus you that own the true Scriptures of the Old Teftament, as well as the New: And be faid unto them, Thefe Words which I fpake unto you while I was yet with you, That all must be fulfilled which are written of me in the Law of Mofes, and in the Prophets, and in the Pfalms, Luke xxiv. 44. But I never read or heard that Job, or Solomon, were any Prophets of the Lord at all, though they fpake many excellent Truths: Yet neither by Chrift, the Only God of all true Scriptures, nor in the holy Apoftles, are they mentioned to be Pen-men of Holy Writ. I do not thus write, to undervalue them in the leaft; but the Truth is the Truth, though all Men fhould speak against it,

OR unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the Government fhall be upon his Shoulders ; and he fhall call his Name Wonderful, Counsellor, the Mighty God, the Everlafting Father, the Prince of Peace, Ifaiab ix. 6. Behold a Virgin fhall be with Child, and fhall bear a Son, and they fhall call his Name Immanuel; which is, by Interpretation, God with us, Mat. i. 20, 21, and 23.

But whilft he thought on thefe Things, behold the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a Dream, faying, Jofeph, the Son of David, Fear not to take Mary thy Wife, for that ⚫ which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost, and she • fhall bring forth a Son, and thou fhalt call his Name Jefus : For he shall fave his People from their Sins, Mat. i. 20, 21.

Then faid Mary to the Angel, How fhall this be, seeing ⚫ I know not Man? And the Angel faid unto her, The Holy 'Ghost shall come upon thee, and the Power of the Highest • shall overshadow thee: Therefore also that holy Thing which ⚫ fhall be born of thee, fhall be called the Son of God, Luke i. 34, 35

And the cried with a loud Voice, and faid, Bleffed art thou among Women, because the Fruit of thy Womb is ⚫ bleffed. And whence cometh this to me, that the Mother of my Lord fhould come to me? And thou Babe fhalt be called the Prophet of the Moft High: For thou fhalt go before the Face of the Lord, to prepare his Ways, Luke i. 42, 43, • and 76.

In the Beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God; the fame was in the Begin*ning with God. All Things were made by him; and without him was nothing made that was made. Let the fame Mind be in you that was even in Chrift Jefus, who being in the Form of God, thought it no Robbery to be equal with God; but he made himself of no Reputation, and took on him the Form of a Servant, and was made like unto Man, and was found in Shape as a Man. Phill, i, 5 · 6, 7.

In whom we have Redemption through his Blood; that is, the Forgiveness of Sins, who is the Image of the invisible God, the First-begotten of every Creature, For by him. • were all Things created which are in Heaven, and which are on Earth, Things vifible and invifible, whether they be Thrones, or Dominions, or Principalities, or Powers; all Things were created by him, and for him, and he is before: all Things, and in him all. For it pleased the Father that in him fhould all Fullness dwell. Verse 19.

• In whom are hid all the Treafures of Wifdom and Knowledge. Coloff. ii. 3.

For in him dwelleth all the Fullness of the "Godhead bodily. Coloff. ii. 9.

6 And of his Fullness have we all received Grace for Grace. John i. 16.

All Things are given to me of the Father, and no Man knoweth the Son but the Father; neither knoweth any Manthe Father but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him. Matt. xi. 27.

No Man hath feen God at any Time; the only begotten Son, which is in the Bofom of the Father, he hath declared him. John i. 18.

Not that any Man hath feen the Father, fave he which is of God, he hath feen the Father. This is that Bread which ⚫ came down from Heaven, that he which eateth of it should not die. I am that living Bread which came down from Heaven; if any Man eat of this Bread he shall live for • ever. What then, if ye fhall fee the Son of Man afcend up where he was before? And whither I go ye know, and the Way ye know. Thɔ mas said unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; how can we then know the Way? Jefus faid unto him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no Man cometh to the Father but by me. If ye had known me ye should • have known the Father alfo; and from henceforth ye know him, and have feen him. Philip faid unto him, Lord, fhew us the Father, and it fufficeth us, Jefus faid unto him, I have been fo long Time with you, and haft thou not known me, Philip? He that hath feen me hath feen my Father? • how then sayeft thou fhew us the Father? Believeft thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The • Words that I speak unto you I fpeak not of myself, but my Father, that dwelleth in me, he doth the Work. Believe me, that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; at leaft, believe me for the Work's Sake. John xiv. 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.

But Thomas, one of the Twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jefus came; the other Difciples therefore ⚫ faid unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he faid unto them, Except I fee in his Hands the Print of the Nails, and put my Finger in the Print of the Nails, and put my Hand into his Side, I will not believe. And eight Days after, again his Disciples were within, and Thomas was with them : Then came Jefus, when the Doors were fhut, and stood in ⚫ the Midst, and said, Peace be unto you. After said he to Thomas, Put thy Finger here, and fee my Hands, and put forth thy Hand, and put it into my Side; and be not faithless, • but faithful. Then Thomas answered, and faid unto him, Thou art my Lord and my God. John xx. 24, 25, 26,

And he that feeth me feeth him that fent me. John xii. 45. As the Father knoweth me, fo know I the Father. I and my Father are one. John x. 15, 30.

And if I also judge, my Judgment is true; for he that fent me is with me. The Father hath not left me alone, because I do always thofe Things that please him. Then faid they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jefus answered,

Ye neither know me nor my Father. If ye had known me,' ye fhould have known my Father alfo. John viii. 16, 19.

He muft encrease, but I muft decreafe. He that is come from on high is above all. He that is of the Earth is of the Earth, and speaketh of the Earth; he that is come from Heaven is above all; for no Man afcendeth up to Heaven but he that hath defcended from Heaven, the Son of Man, which < is in Heaven. John ii. 13, 30, 31.

The first Man is of the Earth, earthly; the fecond Man is the Lord from Heaven. I Cor. xv. 47.

And all Things are of God, which hath reconciled us • unto himself, by Jefus Chrift; for God was in Christ, and < reconciled the World to himself. 2 Cor. v. Part of the 18th and 19th Verfes.

And when he had fpoken thefe Things, while they beheld he was taken up, for a Cloud took him out of their Sight; and while they looked ftedfaftly towards Heaven, as he went, behold two Men ftood by them, in white Apparel, ⚫ which alfo faid, Ye Men of Gallilee, why ftand ye gazing into Heaven? • What Concord hath Chrift with Belial? Or what Part hath the Believer with the Infidel? And what Agreement hath the Temple of God with Idols? For ye are the Temple of the living God; as God hath faid, I will dwell among them, and walk there; and I will be their God, and they shall be my People; and I will be a Father to you, and ye shall be my Sons and Daughters, faith the Lord Almighty. 2 Cor. vi. the latter End.

There is one Lord, one Faith, one Baptifm, one God and Father of all, which is above all, and through all, and in you all; but to every one of us is given Grace, according to the Measure of the Gift of Chrift. Wherefore he faid, when he afcended on high, he led Captivity captive, and gave Gifts unto Men. Now in that he afcended, what is it, • but that he had alfo defcended first into the lowest Parts of the Earth?
