THE Editors of this Edition of Mr WALKER's

Sermons, presume that they render an essential service to the Public, by bringing forward this valuable Work in a cheaper, and they hope they may add, in an improved form. The numerous editions which have been published, sufficiently evince the general estimation in which it has been held. Hitherto the work has been printed in four Volumes; the two first originally under the Author's own eye; the third soon after his death, and the fourth in 1796. The first Volume of this Edition comprises the whole published by the Author himself, and the second contains the posthumous Volumes.

In a work so often reprinted, it is not surprising that numerous Errata should have crept in. This is the more to be regretted, as some of these not only obscure, but even convey a meaning directly the reverse of that of the Author. Great care has been taken to correct these; and no expense or pains have been spared to entitle this Edition to Public Patronage.

EDINBURGH, March 1811.
