THE ORDER FOR Morning Prayer Daily throughout the Year. The beginning of Morning Prayer, the Minister shall read with a loud voice Some one or more of the Sentences which are taken Word for Word out of the Holy Scriptures, after which follows this Exhortation. D Early beloved Brethren, Jam. 2.5. the Scripture moveth us iu fundry places to acknowledge and confefs our manifold fins and wickedness, 1 John 1. 9. Pfal. 51. 3. Pfal. 38. 18. and that we should not dissemble, nor cloak them before the face of Almighty God our heavenly Father, Prov. 28. 13. Pfal. 32.5. but confefs A fess them with an humble, lowly, penitent, and obedient heart, to the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same by his infinite goodness and mercy, PJ. 10. 17. and Pfal. 34. 18. And altho' we ought at all times humbly to acknowledge our fins before God, 1 Tim. 2. 8. yet ought we most chiefly so to do when we assemble and meet together, Levit. 4. 14. to render thanks for the great benefits that we have received at his hands, Pfal. 68. 19. to fet forth his most worthy praise, Pfal.50.23.to hear his most holy Word, Heb. 3.7. Wherefore I pray and beseech you, as many as are here present, to accompany me with a pure heart, and humble voice, Cor. 4. 16. 2 Cor. 2. 8. and 5. 29. unto the throne of the heavenly Grace, saying after me, Heb. 4. 16. A Lmighty God, Gen. 17. 1. the Father 1 1 ner, ner, but rather that he may turn from his wickedness and live, Ezek. 33. 11. 1 Tim. 2.4. and hath given power and commandment to his Ministers, to declare and pronounce to his people, being penitent, the absolution and remission of their sins, Luke 24. 47. Matt. 5. 8. through Jesus Christ our Lord, Rom. 5. 21. and 6.23. The People shall answer here, and at the end of all other Prayers, Amen.
