46 And why call ye me Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:

48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

CHAPTER VII.

1 Christ findeth a greater faith in the centurion a Gentile, than in any of the Jews: 10 healeth his servant being absent: 11 raiseth from death the widow's son at Nain: 19 answereth John's messengers with the declaration of his miracles: 24 testifieth to the people what opinion he held of John: 30 inveigheth against the Jews, who with neither the manners of John nor of Jesus could be won: 36 and sheweth by occasion of Mary Magdalene, how he is a friend to sinners, not to maintain them in sins, but to forgive them their sins, upon their faith and repentance.

Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.

2 And a certain centurion's servant who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.

· 3 And when he had heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.

சக அன்றியும் நான் கட்டளை யிடுகிறவைகளை நீங்கள் செய்யாமலிருக்க என்னை ஆண்டவரே ஆண்டவ என்னத்துக்கழைக்கிறீர்கள்.

சஎ என்னிடத்தில்வந்து எனவசனங்களைக்கேட்டு, அவை களின்படி செய்கிறவனையுங்களுக்குக்காண்பிப்பேன்.

சஅ அவன் எவனுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறானென்றால் மாயத்தோண்டிப் பாறையின்மேல் அஸ்தி பாரம் போட்டு வீடுகட்டின் மனிதனுக்கே ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறான். பெருவெள்ள முண்டானபொழுது நீரோட்டம் அந்த வீட்டிலமோதியும் அது கல்மலையின்மேல் அஸ்திபாரம்போட்டிருந்தபடியால் அதையசைக்கக்கூடாமற்போயிற்று.

சுகூ (எனவசனத்தைக) கேட்டும் அதின்படிச்செய்யாத வன் அஸ்தி பாரமில்லாமற பூமியினமேல வீடுகட்டினவனுக் கொப்பாயிருக்கிறான். வெள்ளம் அதில் மோதினவுடனே அதுவிழுந்து மிகவும இடிந்துபோயிற்றென்றார்.

எ. அதிகாரம்.

((க) சேனைத்தலைவனுடைய விசுவாசத்தைப் புகழ்ந்து அவ னுடையவேலைக்காரனைக்குணமாக்கினது. (க) நாயினூரி னகைம்பெண்ணுடைய மகனை உயிரோடே யெழுப்பின து. (யகூ) யோவானுடைய மனிதர்களுக்கு உத்தரவு சொன்னது. (உச) யோவானைக்குறித்துச் சொன்னது (ஙய) யூதர்களுடைய உறுதியில்லாமையைககாண்பித்தது. (ஙக) பரிசேயனுடைய வீட்டிலே சாப்பிடுகிற பொழுது ஒருஸ்திரி அவருடைய பாதத்திலே அபிஷேகம்பண்ணின து. (சய) பரிசேயனுக்கு அன்பைக்குறித்துப் போதித்த து.)

சனங்கள் கேட்கத்தக்கதாக அவர் தமது வாக்கியங்கள் யாவையுஞ் சொல்லி முடித்தபின்பு கப்பர்நாகூமூருக்குப் போனார்.

உ அங்கே நூறு போர்ச்சேவகருக்குத் தலைவனாகிய ஒரு வனுக்குப்பிரியமான வேலைக்காரன வியாதியினாலே மரண த்துக்கேதுவாயிருந்தான்.

ங அந்தத்தலைவன் இயேசுவைக்குறித்துக்கேள்விப்பட்ட பொழுது அவர்வந்து தன் வேலைக்காரனைக்குணமாக்கவே ண்டுமென்று அவரை வேண்டிக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கு யூதரு

4 And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:

5 For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.

6 Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

7 Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

8 For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

9 When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

10 And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

11 ¶ And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.

12 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, say unto thee, Arise,

ச அவர்கள் இயேசுவினிடத்திற் போய் அவரை மிகவும் வே வண்டிக்கொண்டு பின்பு சொன்னது அவன் நம்முடைய தேசத்தாரில் அன்பாயிருந்து எங்களுக்காகவொரு செப்

ஆலயத்தையுங்கட்டினான்.

ரு ஆகையால் உம்முடைய தயவுக்கு அவன் பாத்திர யிருக்கிறானென்றார்கள்.

ச இயேசுவானவர் அவர்களுடனே கூடச்சென்றார். வீட டுக்குச் சமீபமாய்ப்போனபொழுது அந்தத்தலைவன் சிநே கிதரை நோக்கி (நீங்கள் அவரிடத்திற்போய்) ஆண்டவரே நீர் என்வீட்டுவாசலுக்குட்பிரவேசிக்கிறதற்கு நான்பாத்தி

ரனல்ல,

எ அதினாலே நான் தானே யுமமிடத்தில் வருகிறதற்கும் என்னையபாத்திரனெனறெண்ணினேன். ஆகையால் நீர்வரு

த்தப்படாதிரும்.

அ அல்லாமலும் நான் அதிகாரத்துக்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டவ னாயிருந்தும் எனக்குக் கீழிருக்கிறசேவகரிலொருவனைப்போ வனனப்போகிறான மற்றொருவனை வாவெனன வருகிறான். எனவேலைக்காரனை நோக்கி இதைச்செய்யென்னச்செய்கிறா ன. ஆகையால் நீர் ஒருவார்த்தையை மாத்திரஞ் சொன்னால் எனவேலைக்காரன் சொஸ்தம் அடைவானென று சொல்லு ங்களென்று அனுப்பினான்.

கூ இயேசுவானவர் அதைக்கேட்டு அவனைக் குறித்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டுத்திரும்பிக்கொண்டு தமக்குப் பின்செல்லு கிறசனங்களைநோக்கி இப்படிப்பட்ட விசுவாசத்தை நான் ஸ்ரவேலருக்குள்ளுங் காணவில்லையென்றுங்களுக்குச்சொ கிறேனெனறார்.

ய அனுப்பப்பட்டவர்கள்திரும்ப வீட்டுக்குவருகிறபொ ழுது வியாதியாயிருந்தவேலைக்காரன் ஆரோக்கியம் அடை ந்திருக்கிறதைக்கண்டார்கள்.

யக மறுநாளிலே அவர் நாயீனென னுமூருக்குப்போனார். அவருடையசீஷர் அநேகரும் மற்றநேகசனங்களும் அவரு L னேகூடப ப்போனார்கள்.

யஉ அவர் ஊரின்வாசலுக்குச் சமீபமான பொழுது ஒரு கைம்பெண்ணுடைய ஒரேகுமாரன் இறந்துபோய் வெளி யேகொண்டுவரப்பட்டான். ஊராரில் அநேக சனங்களும்

அவளுடனே கூடவந்தார்கள்.

யங கர்த்தர் அவளைப்பார்த்து அவள்மேல் உருக்கமாய் ரங்கி நீ அழவேண்டாமென சொல்லிக்கிட்டப்போகை யிற்பாடையைச் சுமக்கிறவர்கள் நின்றார்கள்.

யச உடனேயவர் அதைத்தொட்டு வாலிபனே எழுந்திரு

15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

16 And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

17 And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judea, and throughout all the region round about.

18 And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.

19 And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

20 When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

21 And in the same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

23 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

24 And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

25 But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.
