'In that day there shall be upon the bells of the horses, Holiness unto the Lord.'-ZECH. xiv. 20.

I

WANT you to take your Bible and read the whole of this verse and the one following. What a bright, happy time that will be, when everybody is obedient to the sway of the Lord, who is 'King over all the earth!' You will not find a miserable home then, or see one unhappy child. This world of ours, that is very full of jarring sounds, will be full of music then.

You may not live to see this, little one, but the beautiful thought that comes to you from these verses is, that

F

you may help on this glad time every day you live. Yes, you may do something for God's kingdom to-day, not only by earnestly praying 'Thy kingdom come,' but by having this grand motto, 'Holiness unto the Lord,' engraven on your heart, and then shown forth in your life.

If you ask the Spirit of Holiness to come and dwell within you, He will help you, dear child, to live a holy life. And if you do this you will very really be working for Jesus, and doing your part towards extending the kingdom for which you pray every day.

You know Jesus was the 'Holy Child;' and He does want His young disciple to be holy too, and to follow closely in His footsteps. Will you try all through the day?

I remember once putting this little text, 'Holiness unto the Lord,' upon a

large mirror, where it could be constantly seen and remembered. It is well to hang sweet texts where you can see them often; but it is better still to have them so deeply graven on your heart by the Holy Spirit, that they will be sweetly and constantly lived out. Oh, ask God that it may be so with you !

'There is a city bright,

Closed are its gates to sin;
Nought that defileth,
Nought that defileth,
Can ever enter in.

'Saviour, I come to Thee :
O Lamb of God, I pray,
Cleanse me and save me,
Cleanse me and save me,
Wash all my sins away.

'Lord, make me from this hour

Thy loving child to be,

Kept by Thy power, Kept by Thy power, From all that grieveth Thee.

'Till in the snowy dress

Of Thy redeemed I stand,
Faultless and stainless,
Faultless and stainless,

Safe in that happy land.'

sweet and precious. I think it is something like showing you a great room, full of beautiful and costly things, that would be of immense service to you, and bidding you go and help yourself to all you need. Only it is a great deal better than this. For God has such a wonderful storehouse that it never gets emptied; giving can never make Him poorer. And then there is everything a child needs in this treasure-house. But there is one Person only who can give you the key
