Part in peace! is day before us?

Praise his name for life and light: Are the shadows lengthening o'er us? Bless his care who guards the night. Part in peace! with deep thanksgiving; Rendering, as we homeward tread, Gracious service to the living,

Tranquil memory to the dead.

Part in peace! such are the praises
God, our Maker, loveth best;
And the worship that upraises
Human hearts to heavenly rest.
Part in peace! our duties call us;
We must serve as well as praise;
Ask not what may here befall us;
Leave to God the coming days.

"The works

of his hands are verity and wisdom."

THERE's a wideness in God's mercy,
Like the wideness of the sea;
There's a kindness in his justice,
Which is more than liberty.
For the love of God is broader
Than the measures of man's mind,
And the heart of the Eternal

Is most wonderfully kind.

But we make his love too narrow
By false limits of our own;
And we magnify his strictness
With a zeal he will not own.
If our love were but more simple,
We should take him at his word;
And our lives would be all sunshine
In the sweetness of our Lord.

"The temple of God is holy, which temple
ye are."

LOVE divine, all loves excelling,

Joy of heaven to earth come down;
Fix in us thy humble dwelling,
All thy faithful mercies crown.
Father, thou art all compassion, -
Pure, unbounded love thou art;
Visit us with thy salvation,

Enter every trembling heart.

Breathe, oh, breathe thy loving Spirit
Into every troubled breast;
Let us all in thee inherit,
Let us find thy promised rest.
Come, almighty to deliver,
Let us all thy life receive :
Graciously come down, and never,
Never more thy temples leave. AMEN.

PRAISE the Lord; ye heavens adore him;
Praise him, angels, in the height;
Sun and moon, rejoice before him;

Praise him, all ye stars of light.
Praise the Lord, for he hath spoken;
Worlds his mighty voice obeyed;
Laws, which never shall be broken,
For their guidance he hath made.

Praise the Lord, for he is glorious;
Never shall his promise fail;
God hath made his saints victorious;
Sin and death shall not prevail.
Praise the God of our salvation;
Hosts on high his power proclaim;
Heaven and earth, and all creation,
Praise and magnify his name. AMEN.
Anon. 1796.
