PREFACE.

THIS little Book is simply what its title declares it to be. The questions, with a few additions, have already been used in a Bible Class under Pastoral Instruction: and, through the blessing of God, they have been strikingly instrumental in awakening a practical interest in the study of the Scriptures.

It is hoped that in other Schools and Families they may be equally blessed. In Family Readings the answers only might be read by way of Exposition. In Bible Classes both questions and answers should be read, and the questions afterwards given out to be answered in writing.

In these Readings the whole of the Book of Leviticus, and some few chapters of the other Books have been, for obvious reasons, passed over; and in those chapters which have been continuously taken up, many repetitions will be found; in accordance with the inspired injunction that "Precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little and there a little." (Isa. xxviii. 10.)
