From happiness and thee.

To his people is the sight!

Satan conquer'd, and the grave, How oft, alas! this wretched heart Jesus now is strong to save.

Has wander'd from the Lord ! 3 Why that blood his raiment staining How oft my roving thoughts depart,

Demands my life, my soul, my all.

My sins gave sharpness to the nail,
How vast the love that him inclin'd

O save me, whom thou cam'st to save, And earth's strong pillars bend!

St. John xix. 30. 3 'Tis done! the precious ransom's paid,

IS finish'd-so the Saviour cried

'Tis finish'd-yes, the work is done, 4 But soon he'll break death's envious The battle fought, the vict'ry won.

And all the ancient prophets said, Was ever love like thine!

Is now fulfill'd, as long design'd, HYMN 64, (C. M.) In me, the Saviour of mankind. MYSaviour hanging on the tree, 3 'Tis finish’d-Aaron now no more In agonies ,

Up to his father's court he flies; Christ has burst the gates of hell;

Cherubic legions guard him home, Death in vain forbids hini rise,

And shout him welcome to the skies! Christ hath open'd paradise.

5 Break off your tears, ye saints, and tell 4 Soar we now where Christ hath led, sing how he spoil'd the hosts of hell,

How l.igh our great deliv’rer reigns; Following our exalted Head; Made like him, like him we rise
