Ver. 41. And I will accept you with your favour. VI. Of hearing PRAYER. fweet Job xxii. 27. Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee. Pf. iv. 3. But know that the LORD hath fet apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear, when I call unto him. Pf. xxxiv. 6. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and faved him out of all his trouble. PS. xxxiv. 15. The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. Ver. 17. The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. Pf. 1. 15. Call upon me in the day of trouble, I will deliver thee, and thou fhalt glorify me. Pf. lxv. 2. O Thou that heareft fhall all flesh come. prayer, unto thee Pf. xci. 15. He fhall call upon me, and I will answer him. Pf. cxlv. 19. He will fulfil the defire of them that fear him: He also will hear their cry, and will fave them. Prov. xv. 29. The LORD is far from the wicked: But he heareth the prayer of the righteous. Ifa. xxx. 19. He will be very gracious unto thee, at the voice of thy cry: When he shall hear it, he will answer thee. Ifa. Iviii. 9. Then shalt thou call, and the LORD fhall answer: Thou shalt cry, and he shall fay, Here I am. If. lxv. 24. And it fhall come to pafs, that before they call, I will anfwer; and whilft they are yet fpeaking I will hear. Jer. xxix. 12. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye fhall fhall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. Zech. xiii. 9. They fhall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will fay, It is my people: And they fhall fay, The LORD is my GOD. Matt. vii. 7. Ask, and it shall be given you: Seek, and ye fhall find: Knock, and it fhall be opened un to you. Ver. 8. For every one that asketh, receiveth: And he that feeketh, findeth: And to him that knocketh, it fhall be opened. Ver. 11. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more fhall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Matt. xxi. 22. And all things whatsoever ye shall afk in prayer, believing, ye fhall receive. John xv. 7. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye fhall afk what ye will, and it fhall be done unto you. John xvi. 23. And in that day ye fhall ask me nothing: Verily, verily, I fay unto you, whatsoever ye fhall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Ver. 24. Hitherto have ye afked nothing in my name: Ask, and ye fhall receive, that your joy may be full. John xiv. 13. And whatsoever ye fhall afk in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified. in the Son. Ver. 14. If ye. fhall afk any thing in my name, I will do it. James v. 15. And the prayer of faith fhall fave the fick, and the LORD fhall raise him up: And if he have committed fins, they fhall be forgiven him. Ver. 16. Confefs your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed: The effectual effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. 1 John iii. 22. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do thofe things that are pleafing in his fight. 1 John v. 14. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that if we afk any thing according to his will, he heareth us. Ver. 15. And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. Ver. 16. If any man fee his brother fin a fin, which is not unto death, he fhall afk, and he fhall give him life for them that fin not unto death. VII. Of Sanctifying GRACE in general. Pf. lxxxiv. 11. The LORD GOD is a fun and fhield The LORD will give grace and glory: No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. John xvii. 17. Sanctify them through thy truth: Thy word is truth. Ver. 19. And for their fakes I fanctify myfelf, that they also might be fanctified through the truth. Eph. ii. 10. We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jefus unto good works, which GOD hath before ordained, that we fhould walk in them. Phil. ii. 13. For it is GOD which worketh in you both to will and to do, of his good pleasure. Phil. iv. 13. I can do all things through Christ, which ftrengtheneth me. 2 Cor. iii. 5. Not that we are fufficient of ourselves, to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of GOD. 2 Theff. ii. 13. We are bound to give thanks alway to GOD for you, Brethren, beloved of the LORD, because GOD hath from the beginning cho fen fen you to falvation, through fanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth. Col. i. 12. Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the faints in light. Ver. 22. Yet now hath he reconciled, in the body of his flesh through death, to prefent you holy and unblameable, and unreproveable in his fight. : I Tel. v. 23. And the very GOD of peace fanctify you wholly and I pray GOD your whole fpirit, and foul, and body, be preferved blameless, unto the coming of our LORD Jefus Christ. Tit. ii. 14. Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Jer. xxxi. 33. This fhall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Ifrael; after those days, faith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and I will be their GOD, and they fhall be my people. Jer. xxx. 9. They fhall ferve the LORD their GÖD, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them. Luke i. 74. That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hands of our enemies, might ferve him without fear. Ver. 75. In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. 1 Cor. vi. 11. And fuch were fome of you: But ye are washed, but ye are fanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the LORD Jefus, and by the Spirit of our GOD. 2 Cor. iii. 18. But we all, with open face, beholding as in a glass the glory of the LORD, are changed into the fame image, from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD. VIII. Particularly of Converting GRACE. Deut. xxx. 6. And the LORD thy GOD will circumcife thine heart, and the heart of thy feed, to love the LORD thy GOD with all thine heart, and with all thy foul, that thou mayeft live. Jer. xxiv. 7. And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD, and they shall be my people, and I will be their GOD: For they shall return unto me with their whole heart. Jer. xxxi. 18. Turn thou me, and I shall be turned, for thou art the LORD my GOD. Pf. cx. 3. Thy people fhall be willing in the day of thy power. Jer. 1. 4. In those days, and at that time faith the LORD, the children of Ifrael fhall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping. They fhall go and feek the LORD their GOD. Ver. 5. They fhall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, faying, Come, and let us join ourfelves to the LORD, in a perpetual covenant, that fhall not be forgotten. Ezek. xi. 19. And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new fpirit within you; and I will take the ftony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh. Ver. 20. That they may walk in my ftatutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: And they shall be my people, and I will be their GOD. Ezek. xxxvi. 26.. A new heart alfo will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the ftony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. 2 Tim. i. 4. Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling; not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jefus, before the world began. |
