man. Many receive the Gospel message with. gladness-many obstacles in the way. The danger of those who stand wavering-some who have proceeded further, by too great confidence in their own strength have been in danger of being lost. A great favour to see our danger, and to be humbled at the sight. Divine revelation attainable by all. Reason illuminated will always act right. Reason the handmaid to revelation. Reason is not divine light. The real Christian, to be taught of God, must be reduced. into the state of a little child; in which state trials and afflictions are received by him without repining. He pants for a Saviour, and for his grace for assistance. His highest enjoyment the love of God; which to retain, all earthly enjoyments must be subservient to the divine will. The cross of Christ is intended to do away the corruption of human nature. The circumspection of the true Christian. He believes in the truth of the outward records of Scripture, because they accord with his own experience. The system of true, Christianity the most exalted and beneficent, as it "brings glory to God in the highest," and to man eternal happiness.
