said unto-them, Thus itis-written, and thus it-behoved Christ to suffer, and to-rise from the-dead 47 the third day: and thatrepentance and remission of-sins should-be-preached in his name among all nations, beginning at 48 Jerusalem. And ye are

witnesses of-these-things. 49 And, behold, I send the promise of-my Father upon you: but tarry (kalioare) ye in the city ofJerusalem, until ye-beendued - with (evdvoŋole) power from on-high.

ACTS i.

For John truly baptized 5 with-water; but ye shall -be-baptized with theHoly Ghost not many days hence. When-they 6 therefore were-come-together, they-asked-of him, saying, Lord, wilt-thou-at this time restore - again (αποκαθιστάνεις) the kingdom to-Israel? And hesaid unto them, It-is not for-you to-know the-times or the-seasons, which the Father hath-put (ε0ɛTO) in his-own-power. (žovoig.) But ye-shall-receive pow- 8 er, after-that- the Holy Ghost is-come upon you: and ye-shall-be witnesses unto-me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the-uttermost-part of-the earth. And these signs shall-follow them that-believe; In my name shall-they-cast-out devils; they-shall-speak with-new 18 tongues; They-shall-take-up serpents; and if they-drink any deadly-thing, it-shall-not hurt them; they-shall-lay hands on the-sick, and they-shall recover.

(ch. xx. 29, § x.) And many other signs truly did Jesus in-the-presence of-his disciples, which are not written in 31 this book: but these are-written, that ye-might-believe that Jesus is the Chrit, the Son of-God; and that believing ye-might-have life through (ev) his name.
