Christ healeth a nobleman's son.

A. D. 31. went unto the feast. So Jesus came again into J. 4.
Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. 46
And there was a certain 2 nobleman, whose son
was sick at Capernaum. When he heard that 47
Jesus was come out of Judæa into Galilee, he
went unto him, and besought him that he would
come down, and heal his son: for he was at the
point of death. Then said Jesus unto him, 48
1 Cor. 1. Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will
"not believe." The nobleman saith unto him, 49
Sir, come down ere my child die. Jesus saith 50
unto him, "Go thy way; thy son liveth." And
the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken
unto him, and he went his way. And as he was 51
now going down, his servants met him, and told
him, saying, Thy son liveth. Then enquired he 52
of them the hour when he began to amend.
And they said unto him, Yesterday at the se-
venth hour the fever left him. So the father 53
knew that it was at the same hour, in the which
Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and him-
self believed, and his whole house. This is again 54
the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was
come out of Judæa into Galilee.

And many lepers 2 Kin. 5. of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving 28" Naaman the Syrian." And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were 29 filled with wrath, and rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they 30 might cast him down headlong. But he passing through the midst of them went his way.

And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt

26. The miraculous draught of fishes.
AND it came to pass, that, as the people
pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he
stood by the lake of Gennesaret, and saw two 2
ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen
were gone out of them, and were washing their
nets. And he entered into one of the ships, 3
which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would
thrust out a little from the land. And he sat
down, and taught the people out of the ship.

Now when he had left speaking, he said unto 4
Simon, "Launch out into the deep, and let
"down your nets for a draught." And Simon 5
answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled
all the night, and have taken nothing: never-
theless at thy word I will let down the net.
And when they had this done, they inclosed a 6
great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
And they beckoned unto their partners, which 7
were in the other ship, that they should come
and help them. And they came, and filled both
the ships, so that they began to sink. When 8
Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus'
2 Sam. knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a
sinful man, O Lord. For he was astonished, 9
and all that were with him, at the draught of
the fishes which they had taken: and so was 10
also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee,
which were partners with Simon.

AND they went into Capernaum; and straight-

nished at his 2 doctrine: for he taught them as
one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

And there was in their synagogue a man 24 with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the 25 Holy One of God. And Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Hold thy peace, and come out of him." 26 And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and

cried with a loud voice, he came out of him. 27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the un28 clean spirits, and they do obey him. And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.
