Would not some self-willed children do so? Why do men prefer ignorance on the subject of religion? Is it not a mark of guilt, when a child wishes to conceal actions from his parents? When will God bring all concealed wickedness to light? 21 WHAT do such as act rightly and properly, do ? For what purpose? When you do right, how do you feel about others knowing it? Do you feel glad that God knows, and will remember all you do? Where was Jesus at this time? 22 AFTER this where did Jesus go ? What did he do there? 23 WHERE was John baptizing? On which bank of the Jordan was Enon? See тар. What was the reason why John baptized at that place? How, then, should you think he performed this ceremony? Did many persons come to Jesus, to be bap tized? At this time, did they think more of John than of Jesus? 27 WHAT did John say to them? Can you ever obtain knowledge, or riches, without God's blessing? How ought these, and all things to be used, then, if God gives them to us? Who should receive most attention at a marriage, the bridegroom's friends, or the bridegroom himself? Then was it not proper, that the Savior of the world should receive more attention and honor than his friend? How does the friend of the bridegroom feel, when he hears him rejoice, and sees that he is happy? Did John feel glad, when he heard that Jesus baptized a great many persons?
