One door was unbolted by a young woman, about twenty years of age; her face careworn, pale, and ghastly, plainly showing that her days would be few. She was gaily dressed out with a necklace, long ear-rings, and green boots; all which seemed to mock her misery. The friend who was with me asked if she would like a tract to be left each week.
